Hi - I enter my mancave pub which I have called Ye Old Seadog. The idea came to me during the pandemic and when the Royal Marine Museum in Southsea was closing and offering low cost items for sale. I bought a small wooden bar which honoured Hannah Snell who was know as ‘The First Female Marine’. She disguised herself as a man in 1743 and joined the Royal Marines to find her husband who jilted her and left her with a child. She served with distinction and participated in a number of wars. The bar was in tribute to her as she became a landlady of a pub once she left the service due to war wounds.
Further to this, many of the artefacts in Ye Old Seadog have been collected during my 28 year’s service in the Royal Navy. In my mancave bar are many tributes to my 20’shipsmates who lost their lives on HMS Sheffield in May 1982. I hope you appreciate the history and the tributes to those
that serve our nation who are no longer with us. ⚓️🇬🇧⚓️
